What’s featured here is The Giant Centipede (Scolopendra gigantea) (EW SHUT UP)

I’ve been told that if you have one as a pet, be very careful careful, they are fast, nervous, and prone to escape… apparently this person I know had one and it escaped, he was scared for days.  Never found it, the winter probably killed it though.

Too bad I never got to see it, or else his story would have more credibility, I don’t think you can get one of these in Canada.

      You’re right, this wasn’t in the rough draft, Cleatus showed up before Noah did to claim his title as one of the main villain. Hope this is a good change for you :)

        lol, indeed I am ;D it’s not the centipede itself that does me in, it’s how it’s going down his throat….choking scenes or ones like this always do me in a bit :) lol, just me.

      And yes, yes you can buy them in Canada. :P I know several Invert and Arachnid keepers that breed them lol

      OMG were you bit? I saw a video of some guy letting one of these bite at his arm and it was pretty powerful. Why would anyone let a centipede bite them is beyond me.

        I wasn’t, I’m petrified of the things, but the breeder I was spoke to was. He said he isn’t foolish enough to handle them without gloves now lol!

        They aren’t enormous, about 12″ tops which is still pretty big. They can be kept in an aquarium with a secure, screen lid pretty easily. Babies are kept in smaller deli containers with little holes punched in them usually.

    O_O”’ URG!! this reminds me of that scene in Star trek 2009 where the romulan makes Pike swallow a creature similar to this. Soo disturbing… Poor thing.
