Ch 3 – 5 – The Poutine

In the rough draft Pandect, he gave him a Canadian Flag.  I changed this to Poutine cause food probably brings back better memories?

The potted trees in the background are Jade trees.

MorbidPrince: Food – especially a favorite food – is probably more likely to cheer up a more mature person than a magic trick (though those *do* tend make people smile). In this case though, the food seems that it would be the better option for cheering up Cherokee, as poutine is probably not as well known in the states as Canada – showing that Teddy at least cares/ knows enough about Canadian customs that Cherokee has someone who would be easy to talk to.

    • Morbidprince

Wow thanks for the detailed analysis! I enjoyed reading it! I didn’t even consider that food is usually to cheer up an older person. That’s good observation :D gosh that means between this final draft and my rough draft I’ve matured? I don’t want to grow up D: are you in the states? You got to try poutine when u visit Canada :)

      • Keys2tkingdom

Indeed I live I do live in the states – specifically, Alabama. Here in
AL we lack any regional specialty foods like poutine. But since I come
from a family of culinarians, and my wife is starting to have her
pregnancy cravings, I decided to look up poutine to see how she liked
        it…

        Now it seems like I’m going to have to keep a stock of potatoes to julienne, beef, brown gravy ingredients, and cheese curds for the next eight months >_<;;

  • GrellFTW

*laughs* He got food this time? That’s beautiful

    • Morbidprince

Haha guess what I was craving at the time XD

  • Fran-anisca Grave

Food is better I guess then. Teddy is so nice.

  • werberman

Poutine is really only a Quebec and Northern Ontario thing… (geographicaly about 10% of the nation) – probably would have been better to go with maple syrup XD
(Biased though, since I’m from Newfoundland – kinda want toutans and jamjams now…)

    • Morbidprince

Really??? I’m in southern Ontario and we go gaga for pouting here. Not sure about Vancouver… Maple Syrup is definitely a good suggestion :)

      • werberman

Hmm good point; last time I was in toronto poutine was everywhere… it was weird, really, almost like being in Montreal but with fewer smokers :P – can’t speak for out west, but in the east we have our own crazy foods (like scrunchons and pot liquor). Just seems like maple syrup is the only thing the whole nation uses :P

    • Endreas Yohannes

It’s also popular in Southern Ontario

  • Red

    That face is soooo cute!

  • I’m surprised he’s able to smell that over his delicious poutine.
